I started reading John Piper's blog this past month and have been encouraged/ challenged many times. I signed up to get the daily post sent to my email. Today's title was "Why God doesn't fully explain pain"... interested?! I thought it was great. Below is a taste:
"God cannot make plain all he is doing, because there are millions and millions and millions and millions of effects of every event in your life, the good and the bad. God guides them all. They all have micro purposes and macro purposes. He cannot tell you all of them because your brain can't hold all of them.
Trust does not demand more than God has told us. And he has given us immeasurably precious promises that he is in control of all things and only does good to his children. And he has given us a very thick book where we can read story after story after story about how he rules for the good of his people.
Let's trust him and not ask for what our brains cannot contain. " John Piper

- The Lord took me overseas after college where I happened to meet my future husband! Joe and I were married in May 2003. A little over two years later we welcomed our first child, Noah. 20 months later, Madeline arrived...21 months after that Sadie made us a family of five! Sadie was dianosed with Epilepsy in September 2011. For the past 18 months we have searched for the answer that is causing her significant developmental delays. We were told in September 2012 that she has a rare form of epilepsy called Atypical Rolandic Epilepsy that has been untreatable with medicine. We have found ourselves in the role of special needs parents to our precious baby girl. We were unprepared for this road. It has been a hard one, but one that we feel God has given us. On the good days, it feels like a privilege. On the bad days, we choose by faith to believe that the Lord is good and in control.

Good thoughts. He has planned good things for his people. I have to have a generational perspective and realize I may not see it in my time. My children's children's children may be the beneficiaries of my pain or obedience.
Very good! I like reading his blog from time to time too. It is always such good truth! Thanks for sharing.
