My first race

Somehow I let my sweet friend, Donna, talk me into running a 1ok Labor Day race! So, this morning we took to the streets of Macon and ran 6.2 miles! For some of you , this might not be a feat, but it took all I had to cross that finish line! I really enjoyed it, though there were times where I thought I was not going to make it! Donna was my cheerleader the whole way! For those of you who are privileged to know her, this is not hard to imagine or the fact that she has three more races lined up for us already! When I first moved to Macon, I prayed specifically for a close friend who had lost a parent. I know that might sound odd but I knew what lay ahead of me. The Lord was so very good to me to provide Donna. I actually met her in my first week and my Dad passed away in the third week. I can't imagine life in Macon without Donna. She is so loving, gracious, giving and just plain fun!!! We have already shared so many great memories in the past three years (wow, has it really been that long!) and I am so glad that she is a member of the "Macon Forever Club"! Love you Donna!

Wow, Suz I'm very impressed! Did you actually run the entire 6 miles? Did you train at all? I don't think I could do it! I am so thankful for your sweet friend Donna. Love you!

That is so great!!! I'm way impressed! Tell Donna to come to Birmingham and get my lazy tail to go run a marathon. Would do wonders to get these stubborn last pounds off. Speaking of, you look fantastic. I can't believe you've had two children. So not fair. Anyways, way to go on the marathon!!!

WOW! I'm so impressed! And I've been proud of myself for WALKING every morning! I'm not going to run unless someone is chasing me with a gun or something.

Suz, that is awesome! I'm very proud of you for diving in and doing it, even if she twisted your arm a little. I'm also so glad for you that you have Donna--she sounds like an AMAZING friend! What an answer to a very specific prayer.
Love you always,

I'm very impressed... you would think you do enough running just chasing 2 kids. You are my role model!
