Paci Addict

Any advice for taking away the faithful paci? We can't bring ourselves to do it yet! We would like to have it gone by his second birthday which is rapidly approaching. He really is not sleeping in this pic, just playing! But he goes to bed with a paci in his mouth and one in his hand! Are we desperate for sleep or what?!

Also, I would love any advice on dropping the morning nap! We are having a hard time transitioning from two naps to one. Everyone swears by one LONG afternoon nap but it is not happening for us. I welcome any tips and would like to know what time you put your little one down.

sleep is one ofthe most instinctual gifts the Lord gives us. trust the little one to drop the morning nap when he truly doesn't need it.

Paci - I told Ellie the Paci went by-by and that was the end of that! She cried the first couple times she went down for nap or nighttime without it; but only for 20 minutes or so and then she went to sleep.

As for the nap, they usually just let it go; but he could need a little more stimulation too. i know this struggle. You want to do stuff with him; but he wants to sleep. A little after one is when they're supposed to drop it. How about this: Do you take him places in the mornings to keep him up and not able to fall asleep? I would keep him busy until after lunch and then put him down around 1pm. If that means staying away from the house in the morning for a couple of days until it's your new routine, then do that.
