We went to Birmingham for Easter. Mimi had baskets waiting for the kids. They were both very excited about their goodies! On Saturday we went to see (great) Grandma and Grandpa at their retirement home. Each year they have an egg hunt (yes, this makes our fourth one of the week), a band, and cookout! This was our first year to make it and it was very special to be with my grandparents. I think they really enjoyed watching their great grandchildren. Grandma also got the kids Easter baskets which was not an easy thing for her to do. It meant a lot to me to see the effort she put into making this day special for all of us. My Easter memories are largely due to her. We would always dye eggs together and they would take us to a Shriner's egg hunt! So it was special to share this day with them.
Madeline got to meet the Easter Bunny and debuted one of my favorite dresses that I had bought before she was born! Unfortunately, she got sick that day and preceded to run a fever for the next several days. Turned out to be an ear infection that has now developed into a double ear infection topped with an upset tummy! It has been a long week for us all. So please excuse her runny nose!
