Shocking I know...finally an update! It has been painfully too long since I have updated my poor, neglected blog! Thanks to the urging of Ashlei and Lauren (just to mention a few!) I am determined to go for it! There is so much to fill you in on, yet the task is too overwhelming, which prevents me from even trying! But for the sake of our family journal, I am going to briefly post about our busy Fall (with hopes of a Christmas update to soon follow!) So here goes...

(Pics: Baby Sadie has her first teeth, started sleeping through the night when we moved at 10 months, eating tons of table food, though she is tiny and is a LOVE! The fall was divided by time at Mimi's and Gammie and Papa's as we waited to move into our house! Rock Ranch made the list for the third year before we left Macon! It was so fun to see Madeline enjoy it this year. Thanksgiving was spent with Mimi and Grandma and the family.)
We have been in Augusta now for almost three months! It has been full of changes, both good and hard! I have struggled greatly with the loss of my friendships and starting over. It's no fun being the new girl in town! But with that, the Lord is teaching me so much about myself. It is so good to be known and loved, and when you are not, it brings you back to Christ. I am so thankful that He fully knows me and loves me more than anyone could. Trusting Him instead of myself has been a recurrent theme, trusting that He brought us here for His glory and it's okay for me to feel lonely, but I don't need to dwell there (which I have been doing wholeheartedly ;-)) We have found a wonderful church at First Presbyterian. The preaching is amazing and points us to Christ each week. We will soon be in a small group from our Sunday school class (which is also amazing and studying Romans with Tim Keller!) and I just started the ladies bible study yesterday. I have been most encouraged by sweet friends in Macon who have friends here, who they have connected me with. Those new friends have been so loving to reach out to me, the new girl, and plug me in. So I have much to be thankful for!

A highlight of the fall was reconnecting with my dear friend, Kadie and meeting her long awaited baby girl, Rylie! Halloween was a bust with the rain, but we managed to trick or treat in our new neighborhood. Noah and Madeline were two cute, fierce pirates. Sadie was precious as a little giraffe! The kids had lots of time spent with cousin Clayton as my sweet sister watched the kids for a week while I met the movers! We are very grateful for the hospitality Gammie and Papa showed us for three weeks as we invaded their world, with our three lively, messy blessings! We have enjoyed being in the same town with them so much. What a blessing to us and our children. Joe and I did not grow up with grandparents around and we are so thankful that our children will have that privilege.

One of our favorite parts of our neighborhood is this...there is a mile and a half of walking trails that lead to the river! We are so looking forward to the weather warming up, so that we can go fishing and hiking!
Well, if you ,made it to the bottom of this, bless you! I hope to do better as I am feeling better and starting to get a handle on things! Noah and Madeline started preschool last week, so that should help! Did I mention three small kids at home for three straight months is HARD?!!! We made it, mostly intact and here's to a new year full of God's blessings with hope of new beginnings, new friendships, new traditions and a daily life of trusting Jesus in the midst of the chaos!

great post, Suz! Didn't know if you were going to call me back or if I should. I enjoyed catching up this morning and am so glad to hear that everything is starting to look up in your new "life"!
Love your new house. It's beautiful. Once you're settled show us some pics of the inside!!

Wow so fun. I can't believe how much bigger they look. The girls are adorable (as is noah) but they've changed the most. I can't believe how blonde maddie's hair is. I can't wait to see them in person.
Yea!!!! I am so glad you are back! :)
Wonderful update and pics !!!!

Please don't feel bad - I have been slacking too, but I have no excuses compared to you - moving with 3 kids!!! I'm sure you will very quickly find some wonderful new friends! I can attest that it is WONDERFUL to live in the same town as grandparents - such a blessing!
