The Small Things

Last week Noah and Madeline started preschool (do I hear a chorus of angels singing or is that just me?!). Noah is going three days a week and Madeline goes for two days. I am excited to have some time back to myself, or should I say myself and Sadie, to actually clean the house or run an errand! Here are my cuties going to school! A neat thing here is that the programs all last from 9-1 and you pack a lunch! They LOVE their lunch boxes and think they are pretty hot stuff! Mommy thinks so too!

Another difference is that here they want the kids to wear backpacks! In Macon, backpacks were a no-no, so Noah was super thrilled to receive his "awesome" batman backpack!

Big news around our house is that Madeline moved into her big girl bed! After several months of scaling out of her crib, exploring the house and turning on the fireplace, we felt it was time! When she went to school on Friday, we switched things around and surprised her...

She loves it and has done wonderful! We are so proud of her! A sweet thing about her quilt is that Joe and I picked it out in China when we led a team there, but had no kids! It's fun seeing the daughter we had hoped for using it!

And the biggest surprise was seeing this from her bed...

(sorry it won't rotate!) We took the plunge and put the girls together (my how I LOVE saying "the girls"...are the girls awake? did you hear the girls? It doesn't get old!) Shockingly and amazingly they have done beautifully! It was like they were meant to be roommates! It warms my heart to hear them giggling up there. Joe and I have just sat outside the door and listened. Madeline has done such a great job staying in her bed. We put Sadie down earlier than Madeline and then we "tiptoe, tiptoe" in. I will confess there has been bribery of candy cane sticks for the big sis...and every morning she wakes up she immediately lets me know she is ready for her candy cane! When it's quiet around the house in the morning, I can hear the squeak, squeak, squeak of the crib and my heart swells some more...it's Sadie standing in her crib, bouncing happily up and down, staring over at her big sister! I know it won't always be this blissful, but I sure am enjoing it!

And this is our little rascal as I found her caught in the act of stealing candy and sneaking it under the table! No lie, she swiped it, crawled under the table and proceeded to partake! I am not sure what good example I did as I ran to get my camera! Oh well, it's the small things that I love!

LOVE it!!! You've definitely got my mind racing trying to decide if we should just go for it. But I'm scared after my last failed attempt of 2 of my children sharing a room. The pics were great!!!! I want to see pics of your house when you get it all settled!!!

so fun Susie! I feel the same way about how wonderful it feels when your child does something so precious (just the everyday stuff!)and just warms your heart.. and I'm glad to know that you can still feel the same way with 3! Maybe it will always be that blissful(: Or at least maybe each stage will have it's own "bliss"! I'm a bad "commenter" but I always love looking at your blog so thanks for sharing the pics!
