Sweet Story

As Noah is getting older and sees pictures of my dad around the house, I wonder how I am going to tell him about his granddaddy and keep his memory alive. Noah seems to be interested in musical things which I find hilarious! He likes the guitar and piano. He had seen some drums on TV and was loving it! So, I remembered a picture I have of my dad playing the drums at one of the AXO parent's weekends in college. For all you AXO's, I know you remember how Dad LOVED to play the drums each year! It was the highlight for him all four years! Anyway, I put the picture on the fridge, low enough so Noah can see it. I told him that this is Granddaddy and he loved to play the drums. I also told him that Granddaddy lives in heaven with Jesus...as I gulped back my tears. Noah listened and said "BOOM! BOOM!" for the drums! I wonder how much he gets, and I know it's not much now, but I still talk to him about Dad. So, yesterday, Noah goes to the fridge, points to the picture, says "boom!boom! Granddaddy...jibberish...heaven...Jesus!"

That's right Noah, Graddaddy lives in heaven with Jesus and he would be SO very proud of you! (Splink! Splink! go the tears...) He always wanted a boy and I know that ya'll would have been the best of buds!

Oh, and this is a picture of Noah praying! We are not sure how he became so reverent! Every time we pray, he bows his head really low and gets so serious...it is the most precious thing!

Love ya!!

Ok, that post got me teary. So precious...maybe Noah inherited your Daddy Boy's musical talent! I went from tears to dying laughing at his reverent little prayer...his nose is almost touching those waffles! Tell Noah that Aunt Kelly can't wait to see him!

Such a sweet post. I'm so glad Noah and Madelyn are getting to know their grandaddy in their own way through your sweet stories. I can only imagine how proud your dad would be, not only of his grandbabbies, but of you too. You're a great mommy!
