More family reunion

We were able to celebrate Lilly and Patrick's birthday. The girls were super cute eating their chocolate cupcakes and dressing up! The baby girls, Lucy and Sadie, were just chillin'!

When we were little, our two families have a picture just like the one above. I wish I had it and a scanner and I'd show you! So we thought it would be fun to take one now after all these years! I could just eat up all the girls in their Bama cheerleader outfits! Joe and Amy obliged us and played along! My Nana showed up in the middle and we were able to get her with all her great grandchildren and family! This will be a special picture in years to come. The last pic on the middle row is my Dad's mom and two sisters. ROLL TIDE daddy boy!

These pictures really bestill my heart. My Uncle Jimmy is one of the finest men I know. He and my aunt Susanne have a wonderful marriage, strong faith in Christ, and a sweet family. I have always admired them and looked up to them. Joe and I hope that our marriage will look like theirs in the years to come. I love the story of how they met at Alabama when Susanne was a freshmen Phi Mu and Jimmy was a senior (or junior?!) Theta Chi! It's priceless! Anyway, watching Madeline with Jimmy made me long even more for my dad to be here and to be the grandfather I knew he could be. Sitting there watching these two being silly together, in my mind I was picturing it to be my dad and his baby girl Maddie. Oh, the joys and pains of this life. It is so fleeting. May we all rest in the hope and rest that Christ brings.
To the Lewis Family aka Griswolds, I love you all and am so proud of all that you have become. Matthew, your family is beautiful and seeing you as a Daddy was so special! Patrick, you are a wonderful uncle and were so great with the kids. Some lady is going to be so lucky to snag you! Let's do it again next year!
