New York...SURPRISE!!!

Last week, Kelly got the surprise of her life! Ryan, her sweet husband, flew the two of us to New York City for her 30th birthday!!! We had a blast! I had been planning the surprise trip for a month or so. We were able to do so many fun things! One thing I was dying to do was go see Live with Regis and Kelly! I just love them! When I had Noah, I spent many mornings watching them as I nursed Noah and tried to survive a newborn! They brought me a great deal of laughter! Anyhoo, we got in line at 6:30 a.m. and by the skin of our teeth, made it into the show! It was awesome! The craziest thing about the whole trip was that my mom was selected to go to NY for a teacher conference at the exact same time! So, we were able to stay with her in a hotel right in Times Square! Thanks Mom for making our trip a reality!
I don't know if any of you heard about the strike on Broadway, but go figure it would happen the week we were going! We originally had tickets for Wicked that got cancelled. At the last minute, we were able to see Mary Poppins! It was really good! We also saw the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. There was lots of shopping on Canal Street, sight seeing on 5th Avenue, fabulous eating thanks to Mollye, and lots of laughs! From my mom pushing me onto the subway as the doors closed (or so we thought!) to getting my foot stuck in the subway door trying to get off!
Thanks Ryan for sending us to New York! and Happy 30th Birthday to Kelly! Love you both!

Hey Susie! What a fun trip. We did the same thing the week before EXCEPT we got in line for Regis at 6:30am and didn't get in! bummer! The plays were on strike with us too, looks like you lucked out though with the Rockettes and Mary Poppins. We did two others and did not get so lucky. They were snoozers. ha! Oh well, we still had fun though. We saw Regis walking from his building to the show though, so that was exciting! We went November 12th. I still love New York though. What a fun idea to go wtih a girlfriend! I love keeping updated with you through your blog. so fun!
